Online MLM – The New Home Based Business

Posted by: Carlo on September 26th, 2010

For any number of reasons, more and more people are looking into a home based business as an alternative to a J-O-B (Just Above Broke). The magical menagerie of MLMs (multi-level-marketing) and direct marketing businesses has a plethora of opportunities just waiting for folks with that mind set to jump on board with them.

For most folks, however, the very mention of MLM conjures up distasteful images of hitting up your family, friends, and basically everyone you’ve ever met for sales and down-line partnerships.

Once you’ve blown through that list, you move on to total strangers. You have to be a glutton for serial rejection or have the skin of an alligator not to cringe even a little at that prospect.

But, what if there was a way to avoid all that? What if you could use the power of the Internet to start (or even re-start) a new home based business online that has leads coming to you?

Before you get too excited, you should know that 90 95% of new home based businesses online fail. Now, before you get too discouraged, you should know why they fail.

There are three primary reasons, all of which have solutions. Those reasons are:

  • Under-funding you’ve heard the expression, It takes money to make money. The question is how much money will it take? The answer to that question is, That depends. Determining that figure and knowing how to generate it is crucial.
  • No Proven Successful Strategy the cliche, He didn’t plan to fail, he just failed to plan is true, but needs a qualifier. If the plan you have isn’t a good one, then you haven’t failed to plan, you’ve just failed to have a good plan.
  • Insufficient Website Traffic Any online business is a numbers game. If you don’t get the eyes to your site, you’re not going to generate income from it. Of the casual clickers that follow a link to your site, an average of 1% will convert to income for you.

Once you’ve got a website going, you need to generate leads leads for sales and leads for business affiliates; and with effective online marketing, leads will come to you.

Now, just so you don’t misunderstand, you cant just set up a website, sit back, and wait for the money to come pouring in. An online home based business requires just as much effort as it did back in the day when MLMs and direct marketing relied solely on home parties and meetings.

You’ll still have to follow through with contact. You’ll still have to talk on the phone or meet in person. You’ll just use less gasoline, and these people will want to talk with you or meet with you.

Attraction marketing establishes you as an expert and is one of the most effective ways to bring qualified leads to your website. Not an expert? Not a problem. You only have to know more than the people coming to your site to be an expert.

Anytime you can offer helpful information that is of value to someone else, you become an authority on the subject, whatever it may be. Therefore, it is generally advisable not to venture into a home based business that deals with products or services that you know nothing about or worse yet, have no interest in.

Nothing attracts like enthusiasm and passion. So before you do anything else, define your passion and build your home based business around it.

Ignorance is curable, but disinterest seldom is. After passion, solid presence, consistency, and persistence, a proven plan will produce the results you’re looking for. For more info, visit this site.

    Enough said… Great comment Ginette!

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a very highly debated topic. Ask one person and they will say it is all a complete scam. Ask another person and they will say it is the greatest thing in the universe. One person will say, “MLM didn’t work for me” and the next will say, “I made millions in my MLM business!”

Well, here is the truth behind Multi Level Marketing…

MLM in and of itself is not a scam, scheme, or anything of the sort. It is a very legitimate and powerful way to do business. In fact, almost every business has at least some aspects or resemblance of an MLM, whether they admit it or not.

The problem is that people have a tendency to believe that joining an MLM opportunity is some sort of “magic” thing where they will not have to do anything but sit on their butt and still get rich in just a couple weeks. When that does not happen they are quick to tell everyone they possibly can just how much of a scam every MLM in the world is.

The reality is that if they would have just spent as much time actually putting effort in to their MLM business as they did bashing it afterward, they probably would have made a lot of money.

I work out of home as a Realtor and wouldn’t have it any other way. I set my times, eating, sleeping and exersize when I choose, but self-disciple is key

Great post Carlo. Yes most new businesses do fail because of the 3 points you mentioned. The most important thing you said was about attraction marketing. That’s everything. Your level of self-development is directly related to your success. The more you do, the more highly qualified peeps you’ll “attract”.
